Minneapolis and more

What a fun day with our good friends Sharon and Joe! They were such wonderful hosts and excellent tour guides. The day started with a tour of downtown Minneapolis with its beautiful skyline.

A quick trip down by the mighty Mississipppi...

And on to some of downtowns unusual art sculptures...

And a most curious art and putt putt combo...

Next we had a wonderful roof top lunch. Stella's was a fun fish house. We don't have many roof top garden restaurants in Williamsburg or Hilton Head, so a treat for us! Plus another chance to try walleye, one of my new favorite fish. And thank you to Joe and Sharon for treating us as if they hadn't done enough already!

Next we got to see why Minnesotians love summer in their cities. Beautiful lakes, clear blue sky, low humidity, lots of bikes, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, kids and dogs out playing in the grass and beach (okay, they don't know what a beach really is, poor things). Gorgeous homes on the waterfront surround the lakes. It is such a beautiful and peaceful break from winter for them, I see why they love this area!

We ended the afternoon with a lovely outdoor concert venue on Lake Harriet. Such a nice outdoor experience, a great little folk band and good company!

And me and my bestie on the waterfront

Now it's on to Duplicate bridge lesson number 2 with Professor Joe, hope he has patience for a couple of old retired folks!
