Well, two days in a row now of solid rain and snow at higher elevations, with tomorrow, our last day here, predicted for rain as well. If we could see the snow I guess it wouldn't be so miserable, but this is our view:
It is a very cold rain at 41 deg with much flooding and potential rock slides in the area. I am sure it is snowing hard up on the trails. Since we do not have a TV channel here, it's a bit hard to tell how it actually is outside the campground, but we have not ventured out, not knowing the area. This area is so small in terms of a town that news is not available. Mom says Cinder and I have been real troopers, but we are all beginning to get cabin fever. Dad is busying himself with water coming in near backslide that he can't tell how although he has torn everything out back there looking. This morning a heatpump up front doesn't seem to be working, but not like he can get on the roof to check it out. Thank goodness we have two more heat pumps, plus gas heat if it gets even colder.
After Thursday, we may not be posting for a while unless we get wifi in the Canadian campgrounds. Once we hit AK, we can (maybe) use our verizon again if we have a signal.
While sitting in the pouring rain isn't my favorite part of the trip, it's all part of the adventure, must take the bad with the good and be thankful we are able to make this trip, many cannot and we are truly blessed to do so!
Look for us again in AK, projected date is Jul 16 for Chicken, AK where I doubt we will have service or Jul 18 for Fairbanks area, much more likely. We are planning on adding cell minutes in Canada so texting is free and we will have phone, at least on Dad's cell so he can check in at home!
Take care and see you in AK!
