God must have created Montana first!

We left Billings Montana and drove up route 90 to just beyond Butte to a smaller town, Deer Lodge.  Mom said the drive was one of the most spectacular she has seen...Cinder and I missed it all, peacefully sleeping!

Mom said the beauty came from lush rolling green hills with the Yellowstone River meandering alongside, making way to jagged buttes and beyond to snow capped Rockies. Pictures just don't do it justice, especially from inside the window while traveling! The temp changed drastically today, starting at a cool 47 but making it's way to a warm 75 deg by afternoon. We went through 6000 ft of elevation, but ended up a bit lower in Deer Lodge, MT. Here are a few snaps of the trip, no words needed!

And finally arriving at our overnight stay, nothing to write home about, but easy access on/off interstate to make our way to West Glacier tomorrow!

  1. Wow...we live in a beautiful country. Green landscape, blue skies and still snow on the mtn caps. The lack of "traffic" also makes me anxious to get back to our mountain place sooner than later.

My ex-brother in law has lived in Billings for decades....I can see why they love it!
